The most common problem people face when trying to lose weight is answering the question, “what is the best way to lose weight?” Experts go on and on about sticking to a healthy diet and performing daily cardiovascular workouts but how do you make this approach as effective as possible? I believe the answer, from all my years in fitness training, is in sticking to a low carbohydrate/high protein diet and using elliptical machines. Yes you have treadmills, stationary bikes and various other forms of cardio equipment but none of them provide a full body, low impact workout that an elliptical machine does. To lose weight, we want to burn stored fat. Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for the body, so it is important that you keep your carbohydrate intake at a low. If the body does not receive the carbohydrates it require fat loss s to burn to produce energy, it resorts to burning the stored fat instead. So how do elliptical machines come into the equation? Well, most elliptical machines require the use of the arms and legs in order to create an oscillating motion. The dual action means that the heart is required to pump harder in order to supply all the muscles in the body with oxygen. Where the body is deprived of carbohydrates, it therefore has to burn more of the stored fat to supply the heart with energy. It is ultimately the best way to lose weight effectively. Burning fat using elliptical machines can be taken to a higher level. With reverse motion and incline available, muscles that you would not normally use with forward motion and on a climb are put into action. Interval training is also viable, alternating moderate with high intensity bursts.
